Glossary

Words such as ug, obog, omog, otog, «род» and clan are not translated here with a single English or Russian word. Each card is meant to state the term’s original form, the language and period of the source, who used it, what it meant in that context, why the translation is conditional, and which alternative readings exist. Cards are published only after expert review with named sources; until then they show their open questions.
